What in the world do I do in the midst of a screaming tantrum?
Why do I feel as though my child never listens to me or does what I ask?
You know that raising children is one of the biggest challenges and joys in life. It can be stressful and difficult one moment, and a pleasure the next.
Most parents feel confused and overwhelmed at one point or another.
We want to give you direction and peace about what your child needs!
As child and family therapists, we offer tools and strategies to better understand, communicate, and connect with your child and teen.
Our goal as parent coaches is to help you:
- Enjoy parenting again
- Strengthen family relationships
- Increase your confidence as a parents
- Discipline in a way that promotes healthy, emotional attachment between you and your child
While we are very willing to give you practical tools to deal with the problem at hand, we will also encourage you to look at your own emotions and your own hurts that might be influencing your responses as a parent.
As family therapists, we believe that parenting is just as much about our own growth as parents as it is helping your children to grow.
When parents seek to address their own difficult experiences or traumas, they provide a better opportunity for their children to have healthy emotional development. Engaging in your own individual therapy can help your kids grow into becoming resilient and happy adults.
We want to make sure you have the ability, skill, and knowledge to parent from a place of love, composure, and confidence.
What Is Unique About Our Parent Therapy?
As parents, we know firsthand what it’s like to want the best for your child. As an expertly-trained child and family therapists, we have helped many parents learn new ways to respond to their children’s challenging behaviors. We have also helped many parents improve their connection with their children and teens.
Our child and teen counselors’ training is grounded in recent research on brain development and neurobiology. Everything we are learning about the brain confirms that an early bond (attachment) between you and your child is crucial in your child’s emotional intelligence, academic success, and healthy relationships with others. If children experience early on that they are loved and that their needs matter, they are more likely to grow into healthy adults. We want to help you accomplish that!
