Who I work with
Counseling for Men and Women Individually
Whatever you are going through, you don’t have to go through it alone. In my work with individuals, I walk alongside you as you navigate whatever life is throwing at you at this time.
I work with individuals who are struggling with:
- Life Transitions
- Grief
- Trauma
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Relationship issues
I am here to help you discover what healing and peace can look like for you.
I take an individualized approach, tailoring each counseling session to what you need, and using approaches that work better for you.
We collaborate with each other to have conversations about life and work together to bring about change.
Counseling for Couples
Your connection and communication have broken down to being just roommates. The same fights come up time and time again. You realize that neither of you is happy.
I help couples move from the areas where they are feeling stuck to getting intimacy back in their life.
My approach is rooted in the Emotionally Focused Theory and Gottman Method Therapy for Couples which are both based on over 30 years of research and considered the most evidenced-based and effective approaches for couples therapy.
In our couples therapy sessions, I will create an environment where both of you have an equal opportunity to talk about your concerns in a fair and open way. As we work together, we will strive toward recovering your shared sense of trust, fostering healthier communication, and bolstering your connection.
I am here to help you have the relationship you long for. And not just in my office, but in your daily life too!
Counseling for Children Ages 10+
I partner with parents to explore their child’s inner world and struggles. My goal is to help children express what might be bothering them and learn healthy ways to deal with the challenges they face in their everyday life.
As your child’s therapist, I want to help them express their emotions with clarity and confidence.
I also want to support you with new insights, parenting tools, and improved skills, so you can better help your child navigate life. I do this through an integrative approach using play, art, and conversation depending on your child’s preference and what works best for them.
If you have a child on the Autism spectrum or ADHD, you are on a unique parenting journey. You might feel drained and emotional. It hurts to see your neurodiverse child hold their feelings and emotional pain. Your kid’s outbursts and meltdowns might be taking a toll on you and other family members.
Addressing the difficulties of those with neurodiversity is one of my passions. I come with years of experience with autism and related disorders through various camps, school programs, local events, and friends and family in my community. For over two years, I provided one on one ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy to children and teens with autism and related disorders.
Counseling for Teens
Parenting is hard, and it can be even harder when you are concerned about your child’s mental health.
Teens are facing new challenges every day. I know you as the parent want what’s best for them, however maybe you’re finding communication to be difficult and the relationship isn’t what it used to be. I would like to help.
I work with teens to build a relationship and be a safe person they can trust sharing their hardships. Through this relationship, change happens for your teen and for your family.
I specifically work with teens who are struggling with ADHD, depression, and anxiety. These things can be really disruptive to your teen socially, academically, and emotionally.
Through counseling, your teen can develop tools, learn new perspectives, and find healthy ways to cope with what they are going through.
All through our work together, I want your teen to feel hope that it’s possible to feel better!
What to expect when you meet with me:
You will have my undivided attention during our sessions. I give you space to share what you feel you’d like to discuss and sessions tend to feel more conversational.
Sessions are relaxed, I want you to feel like you can be your authentic self when you come into the room. You can expect a listening ear, gentle insights, an empathetic presence, and sometimes laughter as well!
Why choose me as your therapist?
I take a gentle and curious approach to get to know you and understand you as a person. I am patient, compassionate, and am willing to walk through the weeds with you and help you navigate whatever hardship you are going through.
I see counseling as a relationship where true change can happen when we feel fully accepted and understood. This is your space and your time, and I will meet you where you are to reach the goals you have in mind.
A bit about me outside of my work as a therapist
I enjoy spending time outside exploring with my husband and my dog. We have made it a goal to try and visit all the National Parks in the US, my favorite so far has been Joshua Tree!
I also enjoy crafting, especially painting and calligraphy.
You can usually find me outside in nature, spending time with friends, playing board games, or volunteering at church.
