Who I work with
More than anything, I enjoy working with people who are aware that they are not living their life to their full potential and want to change something about themselves or their life.
I am known as a therapist who specializes in working with teens and their families. My work with adolescents has been one of my main focuses for over 15 years.
I love the challenge of connecting with teens, meeting them where they are, and helping them and their parents to cope with the struggles they face.
I am just as passionate about working individually with women and men. People often come to me to find relief in the problem area of their life, whether it be depression, anxiety, trauma, or just feeling stuck and wanting a change.
Helping people overcome traumatic experiences, especially sexual abuse trauma, has been a large focus of my practice in the last two years. It’s an honor to step into client’s most vulnerable life experiences and help them find hope and healing.
What qualifies me to be your guide
I am passionate about my work as a therapist. Much of my life is spent thinking, learning and praying about how people can connect on a deeper level, heal from their deepest problems, and live out their authentic purpose in life.
My persistent curiosity about how to help people live more fulfilling lives has led me to earn a Master’s degree from George Fox University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a WA state licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LF00002109).
I have attended numerous workshops and conferences and have been trained in EMDR therapy that I find helpful with clients who experience anxiety or have a history of trauma. EMDR has been clinically proven to help people resolve the emotional and physical impacts of disturbing life experiences.
While all my schooling and training has been of great use, it is my clients who have been my best teachers. It’s my thousands of hours with clients (since 2000) that help me to continue to master my skills as a therapist and be effective with you.
Above and beyond my education and years of clinical hours, I have a great deal of life I have experienced. I have been through some very difficult times. I know how it feels to be there, how it feels to work through struggles, and how great it feels to move beyond an issue!
How I work
In my work, I focus on each client/family with understanding, honesty, empathy, and hope. I am respectful and interactive in my approach.
My goal is to create a safe and caring environment free of shame and judgment. A place where you share, heal, and grow while working through your struggles with me.
I strongly believe that therapy is a collaborative process where a trained therapist and client work together as a team to move you toward your goals.
As I attune to my clients, I pay attention not only to your words but also to your emotional and physical responses as your share your life story with me. I work hard to recognize what negative beliefs and past experiences stand in the way of you living a more peaceful and meaningful life.
The team I work with
Over the years, my practice became busier and busier. There were numerous times when my schedule did not permit me to take any more clients.
I began to ponder how I can serve more families in Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR area.
I am privileged to work with some amazing and gifted therapists next to me! We all specialize in and are passionate about slightly different issues and it only complements our work together.
It’s hard to find a good therapist. I would not hesitate to say that I am 100% confident to refer my friends and family to the team I work with at Integrity Counseling!
A bit about me outside of my work…
I enjoy reading, hiking, gardening, traveling, and volunteering at my church.
I do not like to pass an opportunity of connecting with my close friends in my garden or at my favorite coffee shop.
Spending time with my husband of 21 years and my children is an all-time favorite.

Olya Pavlishina, LMFT
What our clients say:
“Olya has inspired me to positively improving my life. She is a fantastic listener and her manner gives me comfort and the feeling that I can tell her anything. Never feeling judged! She has helped me to confront smoldering issues of my past and our excellent discussions give me much food for thought. She has helped guide me through self-discovery; however, the distinct quality that separates her from others is her understanding that no two people or two problems are ever the same nor can be treated the same. Olya has helped me devise problem-solving methods that work with my individual life and lifestyle and has helped guide me to be the person I want and aspire to be. Three words I would use to describe her are passionate, encouraging and objective.”
– R. (23 years old) Vancouver, WA
“Counseling with Olya helped me to figure out what to do with my life. Olya listened to what I had to say and it was really helpful (instead of someone just ignoring what I think). I feel happier now.”
– C. (16 years old) Battle Ground, WA
“Olya is professional, intuitive, nonjudgmental, and above all, caring. Her suggestions and help has made an enormous difference to each member of my family. She’s equally amazing with my kids and with myself and husband. I would highly recommend her to any family that is seeking help.”
– Mother of N. (12 years old) Camas, WA
