About Hannah Cornett

Graduate Counseling Intern

Wednesday and Friday

As we navigate through life, challenges are inevitable.

These challenges may come in the form of difficult relationships, feelings of hopelessness, overwhelming emotions, or life circumstances beyond our control.

As a therapist, I am here to support you and remind you that you are not alone.

Together, we can explore these experiences and work toward meaning, peace, and healing.

Who I work with…

I work with teens, individuals, and couples across the lifespan who are navigating a variety of life challenges. Many of the clients I support may be experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck or overwhelmed by life transitions. Others may be coping with grief, loss, or situations that feel outside of their control.

I am here to provide a supportive space to better understand these emotions, improve communication in relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping with stress.

Whether you are facing a specific concern or simply looking for space to reflect and grow, therapy can offer an opportunity for clarity and healing.

Individual Counseling for Adults

I am open to working with clients of all ages and from all walks of life. I am passionate about exploring issues such as:

  • AnxietyDepression
  • Infertility
  • Women’s prenatal/postpartum health
  • Major life transitions/changes
  • Relationship challenges
  • Grief/Loss
  • Managing burnout/stress
  • Loneliness and isolation
  • Self-esteem issues

Counseling for Women in all stages of Motherhood

Motherhood can bring deep meaning and joy, but it can also come with uncertainty, grief, and emotional overwhelm. Women may find themselves navigating infertility, pregnancy complications, postpartum changes, or the ongoing demands of parenting—often while feeling pressure to “hold it together” for everyone else.

In counseling, I offer a supportive and nonjudgmental space for women to explore the emotional challenges that can arise at any stage of the motherhood journey. This may include processing feelings of loss, anxiety, identity changes, relationship strain, or fears about the future.

Together, we can work toward greater emotional clarity, self-compassion, and resilience.

I bring both professional training and personal understanding to this work. I have navigated infertility and a complicated pregnancy myself, which has deepened my sensitivity to the emotional complexity and isolation that can accompany these experiences.

While every journey is unique, my goal is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and understood as we work toward healing and growth.

Teen Counseling

Being a teen isn’t easy, and this stage of life often comes with unique challenges and pressures. I have experience working with teens in a variety of settings, including church events and through my current role as a medical assistant. These experiences have helped me understand the importance of meeting teens where they are and creating a space where they feel safe, heard, and supported.

In teen counseling sessions, I help adolescents navigate concerns such as anxiety, depression, identity exploration, and social or peer-related difficulties.

My approach is compassionate and collaborative, allowing teens to build coping skills, increase self-confidence, and develop a stronger understanding of themselves as they move through this important stage of life.

A bit more about Couples Counseling with me

Many couples come to therapy because they feel stuck in patterns of conflict and poor communication. This can show up in different ways—like criticism, name-calling, avoiding tough conversations, or dealing with the fallout from an emotional or physical affair.

Underneath it all, what most couples want is the same: to reconnect, to feel close again, and to restore peace in their relationship.

In our work together, I’ll help you make sense of where you’re getting stuck and guide you in channeling your energy and passion into rediscovering love, rebuilding trust, and strengthening communication.

My approach to couples therapy is rooted in the Gottman Method—one of the most respected, research-based approaches for helping couples heal, grow, and thrive together.

Why Choose to Do Therapy with Me

As a therapist, I am passionate about connecting with both adults and teens as they navigate life’s challenges. Prior to returning to school, I spent six years working in the medical field, an experience that deepened my understanding of the connection between physical, mental and emotional well-being. Through this work, I learned that prioritizing mental health is not just helpful, but essential to living a healthy, balanced, and fulfilling life.

I strive to offer a nonjudgmental, supportive, and safe space where you can show up exactly as you are. Therapy with me is collaborative and client-centered, meaning we work together to explore your concerns, identify your strengths, and move toward the goals that matter most to you.

Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply seeking greater clarity and growth, I am here to support you as you take steps toward healing, wholeness, and a more meaningful future

A bit about me outside of counseling

I have lived in Washington State my entire life and have a deep appreciation for the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking local trails, and spending quality time with my family.

I have been married to my husband for eight years, and we love exploring the Vancouver and Portland areas—especially in search of the best coffee spots.

I value meaningful connections, both within my family and through building relationships with others. I believe that self-growth is a lifelong journey, and I prioritize continued growth in both my personal life and my education as a counselor.
