If you are a parent of a teenage girl who is struggling with self-confidence, you know how hard it is to watch her self-sabotage herself.
No matter how many times you tell her she is beautiful and smart, it breaks your heart to continue to hear her being so hard on herself.
You want her to move from perfectionism to nurturing self-compassion.
You want her to learn how to fully accept and love herself for who she was made to be.
You want her to get support from people who get it.
I hope to create a safe place for your teen daughter to develop self-compassion and awareness of her inner beauty!
I offer a 6-week therapy group for teen girls struggling with anxiety and self-confidence and I want your daughter to join us on Tuesdays starting January 29th.
Why Teen Support Group?
Teens are in a developmental stage where spending time with each other becomes a priority.
As a therapist, I build on that desire to be among peers by creating a safe space for teen girls to come together, be vulnerable and explore how to take off their masks.
What happens in support groups can often supercharge teen girl’s personal growth and healing.
Whether your daughter has ever been in individual or family counseling or has never set foot into a counseling room before, this can be a great way for her to explore big feelings, challenging relationships, and life struggles in a safe and creative environment.
Who Is This Group For?
This teen support group is a for a girl who wants to:
- learn to kick the inner-critic to the curb
- beat self-sabotage
- shift out of self-criticism and perfectionism to fostering self-compassion
- explore how to fully love and accept herself for who she was made to be
- find accountability among healthy peers and adults
What Will Happen During Teen Support Group?
There definitely be some talking, encouragement, and support!
In each group, the girls will also explore difficult feelings and life challenges with creativity.
Sometimes words alone are not enough for your daughter to express her emotions and thoughts.
When we use music, painting, sand-tray play, and imagery in our therapy group, it activates your teen’s nonverbal manner of thinking. This allows your daughter to express perceptions, emotions, and conflicts about which she may not be able to talk.
New solutions emerge through the use of these expressive arts in therapy. This allows for letting go of painful feelings in a safe and unique way.
Who says that therapy can’t be fun?
