What is standing in the way of you living the life you desire?
Sometimes we get stuck in life.
Losses, sadness, worries, and conflicts with family members can lead to us feeling stuck. At times, those feelings and experiences are so overwhelming that it is difficult to see that there is any hope.
What you might need is an outside perspective of a caring counselor who offers empathy and understanding as well new insights and exploration.
I am here to help you address your perpetual problems, heal old wounds and rekindle connections with loved ones that have felt unattainable.
I am here to help you transform your relationship with yourself and with others.
I can help your relationship through Couples Counseling
I want to help you move from miscommunication and disconnect to being on the same page with your partner.
In working with me through couples therapy, you will learn to not only communicate and understand emotions, but you will also learn the tools to build lasting connection, friendship and intimacy with each other.
If your relationship experienced infidelity, I want to show you how you can heal and rebuild trust.
Together, we will work to intentionally express what you feel and ask for what you need in a way that helps your partner to understand and express love.
We will focus on how to create a culture of deep appreciation, respect and love that builds and enhances trust and sexual intimacy.
In our couples counseling, I will help you to recognize the cycle of conflict so that issues can be transformed into moments of self-compassion, intimacy and connection that lead to real life change.
When I work with couples, I use Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help you and your partner experience a new level of safety and understanding of each other and strengthen your relationship.
These two approaches to couples counseling are considered the most researched and effective in the world of relationship therapy. Each approach is based on over 30 years of research with numerous studies showing positive results in a variety of couples who engage in therapy with a counselor trained in EFT and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

Let me support you through Child, Teen, and Family Therapy
Family can be the source of stress and pain, especially when disagreements and tension arise. But, your family, whether it be a parent (or step-parent) to child or sibling to sibling does not have to stay in that cycle of stress and pain.
Understanding, peace, connection, collaboration, love, and fun can exist within your home!
Children (ages 8+)
For your kiddo, it can be tough feeling like their voice isn’t being heard or feeling like their thoughts, feelings, likes and dislikes don’t matter.
Your child might not know the words or the best ways to identify and share what they are feeling and what they need. This makes it equally challenging and frustrating for you as a parent to know how to help them best.
I am here to help your kiddo find their voice!
I will help your child learn how to pay attention to their body and what it might be wanting to tell them before their feelings, thoughts and behaviors get out of control. I will help them learn words and new ways of communicating with the adults in their life, so that they feel a sense of control and they can understand how to help themselves best.
I find that sessions where both you and your child are present and engaged to be the most helpful, while still paying attention to when the child might need more one-on-one time with the therapist.
Teens
The transition through the pre-teens and adolescent years is a tough one! So much is changing at warp speed.
The teen years involve new self-discovery and self-reinvention. However, relationships with parents, siblings and friends, self-sufficiency, the need for new experiences with freedom and ever-changing emotions can make this part of life feel scarry and difficult to manage.
Covid isolation, social media demands and changing family dynamics have most likely added to your teen’s struggle to communicate effectively, which can feel defeating for both you and them.
I am here to help!
I am passionate about helping teens and parents through this challenging stage of life. I would like you to experience a renewed sense of compassion and connection between you and your teen.
I will partner with your teen in learning new skills that help them identify and advocate for their needs as life challenges come up. Ultimately, we will work toward your teen becoming more emotionally resilient.
Since the teen years affect the whole family system, I often like to invite other family members into our counseling session. I am here to support you as a parent as well.
What to expect in a counseling session with me as your therapist?
You are the expert of your life! I will collaborate with you in understanding what is working and not working in your life.
I will ask tough questions, but I will always come from a place of warmth and compassion.
I will offer you specific resources, interventions, tools, techniques, and activities that will help you on your journey to a more fulfilling life.
Typically, we will work together for a 50-min session, but 80-min sessions are also offered. I have found the longer sessions with couples to be far more effective in achieving immediate, sustainable, positive change.
More than anything, I will create a comfortable, respectful and supportive environment where it feels safe for you to be open in exploring any issues that you have come up in your life.
When I’m not doing therapy…
You can be sure to find me outside exploring the beautiful PNW, anywhere that I can hang out with people, animals of any kind, or eating a lot of tacos!
When I am not outside enjoying the seasonal sunshine, you can find me curled up under a cozy blanket reading a nonfiction novel, watching NCIS with my husband, or taking a nap!
Frequent adventures with my family, friends, and church community is what keeps me encouraged and fills my soul.
Are you ready to start individual, couples, or family counseling?
Asking for help is the first brave step in creating the life you want to live.
However, I realize that the decision to seek counseling is not a decision that is made lightly. In ways, it is easier to ignore emotional and relational struggles in hopes that they will resolve on their own.
Unfortunately, as humans, we have to go through the sometimes painful and scary journey of discovery in order to achieve genuine and lasting healing and restoration.
I have great belief that healing and restoration can exist for you!
Let me help you in improving your relationship with yourself and restoring intimacy with those who are most important to you!
I encourage you to schedule your counseling appointment online.
