Do you find that making the decision to see a therapist is scary or confusing?
You are not alone!
Setting goals, reaching the expectations we set for ourselves, and allowing others into our lives can be difficult for many different reasons.
It is my goal to provide you with a counseling atmosphere that is safe, supportive and welcoming!
Who I Work with
Children, Youth, Teens
I have been working with youth and their families for over 20 years. And, I have absolutely enjoyed every moment!
During my career I have had numerous opportunities to see how much youth want to please their families. I am also a strong believer that children and teens want to be successful in all areas of their life — school, home, and friends.
But, for a variety of reasons, things get in the way.
Depression, Anger, Trauma, Anxiety, Peers. Just to name a few.
I am committed to helping your teen identify what is getting in the way of their ability to meet their goals!
Working together, we will draw on your teen’s individual resiliencies and unique strengths to make powerful and positive changes.
Each one of us has our own story that makes us who we are!
As we work together, we will look at your past, present, and future to identify current concerns and goals, and possible solutions.
Life comes with challenges. We can’t get away from that. I see myself partnering with you, so you don’t have to face these challenges alone.
One of the most rewarding times in my life was when I was the caregiver for my grandmother, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. At the same time, I was caring for my mom, who was quickly losing the battle to breast cancer.
This rewarding time had another side — it was frightening, overwhelming at times, and often times reminded me of my fragile side.
Self-care and support are critical when you are fulfilling this caregiver role with your loved ones.
I would love to hear your story and work with you if you are taking on this monumental task!
Older adults 60+
Each phase of life can present us with many unique challenges. This phase is no different!
As we age it is natural to question the decisions we have made and the direction we are going next. However, this time of contemplation can lead to feelings of uneasiness or doubt that can create stress.
Many will experience levels of stress they are not prepared to handle. Unmanaged stress has the ability to take a negative toll on our health, well-being and relationships.
My goal is to assist you during this time of reflection. You deserve calm and peace!
I hold a Masters in Social Work from Eastern Washington University, and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Washington State University.
In addition, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Washington.
My Personal Life
Any time off for me will involve being near my family. My husband and I have had the pleasure (and the struggles) of raising five children who are now our best friends.
Being outside hiking or kayaking reminds me how much I love this world!
